As you likely already know if you're interested in this topic, race is a social construct with significant impacts historically and in our world today.
Systemic racism and white supremacy were created long ago. Since these issues linger in our societal fabric today, we can observe that our collective ancestors were unable to resolve these issues.
We are born into a time where colonialism and white supremacy are the 'water we swim in.' As white-bodied folks who are systemically advantaged in the system of white-supremacy, at least some of its symptoms remain invisible to us born into white-body privilege until we actively cultivate more awareness in ourselves. This invisibility is not accidental - white body supremacy was specifically enacted to become invisible to those who benefit from it.
It's especially hard to find an embodied response to what we're not aware of. Becoming intellectually aware of systemic issues like racism and our whiteness is a good start, but on its own is not sufficient. Presencing a collective and systemic issue like whiteness in an embodied way can be overwhelming. In order to do this work, we need to learn to care for our bodies, our nervous systems, and our emotions. Building these capacities is best done in relation.
White supremacy creates many symptoms such as inner conflict and fragmentation, loneliness, numbness, feelings of superiority and shame, disconnection from our hearts, our sense of empowerment, or both. Since healing and integration take place through our bodies, increasing our capacity to sense and feel how systemic racism lives in our bodies is a power and courageous step towards healing and personal and social change.
Becoming aware of and liberating ourselves / our bodies from the harmful impacts of white body supremacy improves our lives and deepens connection with our innate selves and with the world around us. Our practice is a portal to peace which restores our interconnection with the web of life. When groups of us face systemic issues together, a healing movement unfolds.
We tend to ourselves with compassion, responsibility, and love. We re-wire the tenants of white-supremacy which over emphasize individuality, perfectionism, mind over body, and power over/under paradigms. Witnessing social identity practices help us access the spaciousness within and between us to move in the direction of collective healing. As more of us learn to deepen our felt experience of systemic issues, we increase our capacity to stay related where people often polarize and lose relation.

I am available to bring these practices to existing communities and groups upon request.
